Yes it would fucking be overpowered. There are a few mons like Rhyperior who have the most atrocious speed stats in the game yet have ridiculous base stat totals

fucker has x4 weakness to water and grass but still tanks through that shit because he doesn't need to invest in speed

Not really, as long as you don't give it to something that can crazy abuse it. For example they gave drizzle and drought to politoed and ninetails, but both of those aren't super strong broken themselves. So if you give auto-trick room to something like that then all it does is give you a safe trick room and save you a single turn setting it up. Great ability that would definitely be used, but not crazy broken or anything.
