Like, how did Yanma turn into a prehistoric dragonfly, and why make that a concept? Wholly Mammoth idea for Piloswine was really neat, but Yanmega just seemed weird.
And then Ambipom gets a chinese haircut, a second tail, red fingers on its tails, and extra fat added on to make the hand look even less plausible for general use.
Like, there are really cool evolutions in Gen 4. Froslass is one of my favorite Pokemon from the gen, despite the kinda weird ear-arm thing, but many of these feel just a bit offputting for my tastes.
I dunno, maybe I'm just a grumpy old man. I certainly don't want those Pokemon to just be forgotten and "remain pure" like some nostalgia fags want, but I don't really like forced concepts like Yanmega and Tangrowth or evolutions for the sake of making a better Pokemon if it means a kinda shitty design.
