Doesn't Gengar lose levitate upon going Mega?
Earthquake it. Its one of the most common moves in the meta-game, come on guys.
You guys bitch about easy shit. Literally any Rock type stops Talonflame, Will-o-Wisp or any ghost type stops Megakhan, Will-o-Wisp renders Aegislash useless.
Proteon Greninja is far more broken than any of that shit.

Well, there are some things that work, but they're mostly too gimmicky to bother using for any other situation. Soundproof, for example, keeps you from dying to Perish Song. Alternately, you could use U-turn or Volt Switch, but then you have to predict around Protect + Disable.

And even then, you have to realize that Perish Trap Mega Gengar can just switch out at any time, only to come in on a wall or something later in the game for a guaranteed kill. Unless you run a team full of six Pokemon that can escape Shadow Tag or are immune to Perish Song (or are Tyranitar, maybe), Mega Gengar is going to kill something, no questions asked.

Which is why Gengarite was banned.

Another option is to Sub/Disable EQ once you use it as M-Gengar does not get outspeed by anything that is using EQ

Why do people keep saying this? Having the same ability does not give them the same role, Greninja is more powerful and much faster, Kecleon is slow but has more bulk especially in special defense. Once Blaziken gets to +2 there is a list of about three things that can stop it.

If you're talking STAB wise, Slowbro/Starmie, Jellicent, Azumarill, Chandelure, dragon/flying types and Talonflame (though these are all OHKO'd after SR.)

Knock Off Blaze (which has actually seen a surge in usage) kills the handful of them you don't already 1/2HKO.

Killing MegaGar in one hit does not matter when you cannot switch into it and even if you could it would just fucking destroy you with a 170SpA Shadow Ball from behind a Substitute.

Obvious b8 here, but building a team that absolutely must be capable of handling two OP mons is what makes competitive battling shit. You can still play against them in Ubers though.

You can switch in - once. But what you are not mentioning is that he has to switch in too. But on what? What is weak enough to let him even get a Substitute up?

On a stall team, everything except Chansey or Blissey has a way to ruin Mega Gengar - and he takes Spikes damage. Offensive teams piss on it even more.

At this point I figure out it's a perish trapper that couldn't do shit to exploud. It would later return to kill one of my pokes before I could kill it with Exploud (I'm guessing the guy figured out that mine had scrappy since he didn't switch out again, but didn't know about boomburst hitting through subs)

You're acting like SubGar is a new invention alongside Gengarite. It's been a present threat since BW1, and there hasn't been a sudden change in Subbing mechanics that means he doesn't find it as easy to set up any more. He's still immune to three types before he Mega evolves, and takes next to nothing from grass/poison/fairy. Smart players can even stave off from Mega Evolving until they scout your switch-ins, which if this thread is anything to go by are all base 130 speed EQ users.
