I've never gotten into prerelease hype as much as I did for gen3. Shit was so intense, I remember when serebii got Hoenn's map and it blew my mind.

Anyone else remember when it was revealed that Latias and Latios weren't the box legendaries and the shitstorm it generated?

I spent hours and hours on that damn thing. Was the only game with decent contests as well.

And those secret bases. It is a travesty that they weren't reintroduced in Unova with streetpass.

I have a surprisingly large amount of fond memories for gen3 given how much I hated it at the time

There were so many good pokemon in gen 3. Breloom, Flygon, Salamence, Milotic, Cacturne, all the starters were good, all the legendaries looked great. Design wise gen 3 is my favourite list of pokes.

Loved these games. I played my cousin's Sapphire and I was stunned at all the new stuff in it. Still have my Emerald from 7 years ago with my file on it. Battery ran dry but Oh well. I'm not willing to lose everything to replace it. Though I would like to hack for those event items.

Gen 3 was a memorable generation thanks to nostalgia.

It's a shame no region hasn't been as beautiful as Hoenn lately.
