How would you feel if Azumarill got another ability that gave it +50% in Special Attack, versus Attack. It has a higher Special Attack Stat as it is, would MixZumarill be the thing?

Huge Power doubles attack, not increase it by %50. and probably not since Physical Azumarill is better due to Aqua jet.

Its special movepool has arguably better coverage (hidden power and grass knot, but no fighting) but it'd lose out on the boosting moves and priority, so physical would probably still be better.
