This is the tactic a friend of mine used to get all of his Legendaries into Premiere balls. Paralyze or sleep, hit all stats with -6, and start throwin'.

This was Gen IV, before you could buy Premiere balls in bulk.

They don't. Only base catch rate, HP, status, and ball used affect the chance of catching one.

Unless they mean decreasing stats to -6 so they can spam balls without worrying about recovering damage.

Yeah, they do. See how many fewer wiggles you get before the Pokemon escapes after that Pokemon has used Agility a few times. See: FRLG Legendary birds.

Stat changes have no effect on catch rates. The wiggles themselves are also kind of pointless.

Though if you spam enough balls while telling yourself that all those dropped stats are going to help, it sure can seem that way. There's a reason people used to think holding A did something, after all.

Oh. Well, it's up to you.

I used a master ball on my version legendary because I couldn't be arsed to even try catching it, then I traded another master ball from my other version to catch Mewtwo because I wanted one with perfect IVs to use against scrubs who use Mewtwo.

For the record, a Parasect with damp, spore, and false swipe can catch pretty much anything.

Metang is very hard to catch I had mine down to one health and it was i think about 4 moves from struggle. I used dusk balls timer balls several repeat balls ultra balls and finally master ball.
