Wise Pokemon masters of /vp/,
Unwashed plebeian here. Can you explain to me what makes a Pokemon "Dark Type" from a fluff perspective? Like, obviously, a Pokemon is made of fire, shoots fire, it's Fire type. Lives in the ocean, it's a fish? Water type. Made out of metal? Steel type.
I know the literal translation of あくタイプ is "Evil Type", and that it is used by a lot of the villain teams, but can someone perhaps explain it to me better? How do you look at a Pokemon and immediately say: that's Dark type, like other types? Is it the willingness to use 'dirty' tricks, like Feint Attack, Fake Tears, Foul Play, Nasty Plot, Thief, etc.?
