>if your whole team is stopped by one pokemon your team is shitWith Shadow Tag, it's not Gengar vs. your team, it's Gengar vs. whatever it decides to kill. And with Shadow Tag, it can do that with a huge success rate, and it opens up the rest of your team to something it can no longer stop because a key member is down.
No Pokemon can singe-handedly defeat an entire OU team on its own, unless you count certain ubers. M-Gengar can't either, but it's so damn good at what it does (and can't be countered because of its ability) that it needed to be banned.
