>you can still switch before it goes megaThe best you can do is switch to a pursuit user, but then any good player will just sub and then switch out freely
>you could carry a good move to use on a pokemon that is a decent counterMeans fuck all with Shadow Tag
>earthquakeShadow Tag
>dark movesShadow Tag
>psychicShadow Tag
>ghostShadow Tag
>pokemon with priority and good attackShadow Tag
>DBond isn't that greatBait
>perish song has countersIts only good counter is outright killing the user, which is something that not everything can do; namely, defensive Pokemon. The main reason why Gengar got banned is not because hyperoffense 2lethal4u teams couldn't handle it, but because it posed a nearly uncounterable threat to everything else
>ghosts ignore shadow tagThere are a whopping six or so useful ghosts
>one of the pokemon in this type can also neutralize itHuh?

>itemsI sure do love running Shed Shell on Blissey specifically because of one Pokemon, though I guess it's also pretty good against Funbro.
>if your whole team is stopped by one pokemon your team is shitWith Shadow Tag, it's not Gengar vs. your team, it's Gengar vs. whatever it decides to kill. And with Shadow Tag, it can do that with a huge success rate, and it opens up the rest of your team to something it can no longer stop because a key member is down.
No Pokemon can singe-handedly defeat an entire OU team on its own, unless you count certain ubers. M-Gengar can't either, but it's so damn good at what it does (and can't be countered because of its ability) that it needed to be banned.
