There won't be any DLC, at least not for new Pokemon. Mega Latios/Latias and the 3 legendaries locked in the game already proves that.

They said they didn't have plans but that could change very easily.

Pretty confirmed seeing as if we do have any DLC, it will be the stuff already programmed.

What reason would there be for programming those unobtainable things into the game if they would just patch in everything else

obviously Pokemon distros are downloadable content. there's probably parts of the game that we see but don't realize are actually areas that have Pokemon or something in them.

I mean, they're not gonna put new locations and things in the game, but it should be easy for them to patch smaller sections like the interior of a empty building into the game for an event.

This isn't exactly true, it's still possible. Things like Rotom and the Kami trio have different forms that are not available in all the games of their release generation.

That being said, I still don't think Mega-Pikachu will happen.

well you could just assume the three we know about were made prior to the plan to create DLC

Pikachu can't get a megaevo, he would be too OP for Ash. Remember that Ash dismisses every strong pokémon.

I think that it won't happen for precisely the reason that Pikachu is THE mascot. They haven't changed him after all this time, they aren't about to now.

Besides, with the inevitable power drop that the anime characters are going to receive with the next generation, it's going to be hard explaining how Ash lost to his new rival with a Mega Pikachu in tow.
