They do, if you've looked throught the threads you would know people do. One guy even admitted a lot of the hate was him samefagging. From what I've seen people only like the IDEA of the cutter rabbit, not actual design (the cutter rabbit on springs people despised).

Agreed. But, you shouldn't cut it off with that, people do like fishy starters (I'm all for a cow instead though)

Well I'm another person and I dislike it. Just because one person says they were samefagging doesn't mean every opinion since has been from the same guy. It's still a terrible idea and we've had much better since. They just require art being submitted for them. There's no point jumping on a poor idea simply because it has art.

I have an idea. What if we set up a quick survey with a couple questions, to get a true idea of what people think of things?

Question 1: What should we do with Lamoby?
a) It's a good starter, we should develop it more in that role
b) It's a good design, but won't work as a starter. Let's make it a sea route mon
c) The idea is bad and its creator should feel bad. Scrap it entirely

Question 2: The Cutting Rabbit
a) The rivalry with the Fence Wire Foxhound is a great idea, and both mons should be kept and developed more
b) The rivalry isn't a good idea, but the Cutting Rabbit itself is fascinating. Keep working on it
c) The entire concept is bad. Throw it out

Question 3: Hokus Pokus Halliokus, the Magic Rabbit?
a) Awesome idea. Keep it, work on it
b) The idea is cool, but Artifact mons are too cliche. The design needs to be reworked because of this
c) The design is completely unworkable. Scrap.

Seriously. Whenever I bring up pokeaus anywhere, I get nothing but raised eyebrows and people remarking about what a shit idea it is. And honestly, I agree with them.

As someone who actually lives in Australia and goes camping in the bush, I can confidently tell you every single fakemon is shit shit shit. And I actually like a couple of the designs in the /vp/ designs a game project (namely Snome).

I'm Australian too. And I like quite a few of the designs here. Not all of them, of course. But some are pretty damn neat.

As for why? Personally, I just think it's a fun little project. And I've always wanted to see a Pokemon game in an Australian setting.

Actually, while I said I wouldn't reveal the poll results, I will reveal one thing.

A combined total of 77% of people think Lamoby is either not workable as a starter, or not workable at all. Only 23% of people think it's actually starter material.

For the past 2 gens based on specific locations we have received pokemon that are completely out of place in these lands. Cofagrigous belong in Egypt, not NYC, and Hawlucha belongs in te Mexico region. So why not continue the trend? Its time we make a Ghost/Fairy Pokemon that belongs more in Ireland... DULLAHAN !!!

Fakedexes either go TOO anthro, because lel edge. Or they go not anthro enough, because they think humanoid Pokemon are bad.

There have been humanoid Pokemon since day 1. And there always will be some, as long as they're in moderation.

One option would be somewhat similar to what you have, except the Dullahan more of a centaur, with no human like legs, and the waist attached to the head armor of the horse.
And where the head and waist of the human part are, and where the horse head armor is, from the eyes or what have you, pours a purpleish smoke, covering the midsection and the legs of the horse, with its legs poking out the bottom of the smokey mist.

I personally really wouldn't suggest putting in GF mons. Unless your mons are absolute perfection, it will only serve to polarize your quality and style versus GF's quality and style, which will not give the level of immersion nor the officialness you would want. It would also really cause a rift.

We need old mons catchable, but i don't think they should get new evolutions. So, I was researching Coober Pedy, and apparently, they have a lot of houses there which are built into the ground and hills in order to counteract the extreme heat. It's an entire city of mole-people.

So, I was thinking the houses could be done as earthworks sort of things, and the houses would all be connected by underground passages, like in the town of Garoh in Golden Sun.

Thoughts?

It looks goofy as hell, in the funniest way possible.
Like, it kinda feels like he's yawning.
Personally, I really dig the little crystal in the tail.
If the sprites for this wind up animated, like gen 5 or suchlike, I'd love to see the guy have a massive mouth like a basking shark, but keeps it hidden until he does the special animation, and just has a pissed off scowl until he does open wide.

stellar! gives it a lot more of a sense of depth, since seeing less of the rock face and having a fluid transition between the door and sign with the logo felt a bit off. I also like how you added an extension to the rock body on the mid-lower right, it feels more natural than a perfect diagonal line, and it helps fill up some more dead space.

I'm not entirely sold on the bat wings myself. I sort of liked how they were with the Lamoby on the left. Try drawing it from a different angle as well if possible. I think one of the top priorities for it to be is streamline.

I swear I'm not the only one that thinks that the ray idea is pretty goddamn Poop for a water starter, like, there's no precedent whatsoever and as it stands it doesn't seem like it can offer a solid dual-typing to match the whole grass/steel - fire/ground thing like the other shit has the water/rock.

Foreign Rabbits (specifically the European Rabbit) are a major problem in Australia... I feel this warrants Diggersby to be in the game, and a source of major derision for the NPCs. Some NPCs should even ridicule you if you have one in your party. At one point there ould even be a side quest to defeat a group of wild ones and the leader Diggersby has a hidden ability, or is even shiny, but if you catch it you wont get the better reward because in Australia, the only good rabbit is a dead one.

Sorry for the lack of frogs, I've been a bit busy!
I decided to scrap the ones I did last night (Because they were awful looking at them in the light of day) and start again. Tried to put more -turtle in the turtlefrog this time.
I'm still working on the third evolution, it's being a pain in the ass to get right. It's based on a turtle frog and a leathery sea turtle (which live around australia so technically they're good!)

The moss on it's back will eventually flatten down into a shell a la leathery turtle style, and I'm thinking of flipper-y front legs with big claws for burrowing.

Colours are just placeholders. Also, that lamoby design is looking adorable and I'm really excited to see what it'll end up as!

Literally the only reason I couldn't see this as a starter is just because buffalo/cattle/bovine whatever aren't native to Australia, so it would seem a bit wierd to have one as a starter...but hell, if everyone wants it as a starter I'd be game for it.
If not a stater, I think it'd be damn great as a late-game poke or an early game poke like Blitzle.

mid-evo sort of doesn't look like a thing, but the final form is pretty interesting. I was kindof hoping it'd be more coral based though? I think OC did something earlier with the horns being like coral stalks or something and that felt like it brought the "Australia" into it's design. really down with the bubble idea though and the armor is sweet but the design feels a bit cluttered at this stage, although that could be fixed pretty easily.

Majority means more than 50%. A combined total of 84% of people like the Cutting Rabbit, but only 43% of that 84% like the idea of the Foxhound rivalry. The other 57% of that 43% only like the Cutting Rabbit.

The reason I did not put these polls on the forums was because of two reasons:

1. Smaller sample size
2. Inability to ask multiple questions in the one thread

These surveys I use allow me to ask many questions at once. The intention was to re-run the polls on the forums IF there were samefag concerns.

Finally finished third evo. It's supposed to look like it's angrily throwing itself at something, but came out a bit more placid than that, sorry! THe little doodle in the corner shows what it looks like stationary- it's big claws curl inwards and it walks on it's knuckles like a pangolin.
The shell is made of steel moss.

Colours are just a placeholder for markings! Any anon is free to fuck around with them, or the entire design for that matter.

Yes yes I do like it on its own, but we still only have one bug/ground type in pokemon canon, and it is totally unusable except in little cup, and even there it is far from good... and we have 3 fully evolved, well niched bug/rock types! Swift Swim Armaldo is kind of tough to surpass outside of making something that is uber. Beefy Fuckwasp can be made good outside of rain, but if is Bug/Rock, it will always be compared to Armaldo and Crustle.

I don't like the constant type-changing through evolution, to be honest. In my opinion, there should only be a max of one type-change in any evolutionary chain, not two. Keep it as Bug/Rock for the first two stages, then have it become Bug/Ground upon final evolution.

However, I love the concept. I have a bit of a phobia of potter wasps, so I think it'd make a very scary Pokemon if done right.

I wanted it to be more like a poison type pseudo nuzzle, thus it could be accessed to all of the jellyfishes, but that works too. Because paralytic venoms are still poisons, poison and steel types should still resist its effects. There would definitely be a flag in the move to not paralyze poison types.

If you were going for an alt-type Nuzzle, you should dial the Base Power down to 20, PP to 20, set Accuracy to 100% and effect chance to 100%.

Also, the reason I suggested a Bug-type alternative was because I was under the impression you wanted to make this a signature move for the Fuckwasp. But if you want it to be more generally applicable, making it Poison type may be more wise.

Wasp doesn't fit that bill in any case but Beedrill, which was meant as a counterpart to the butterfly. Venom trio needs consistency since all trios are the same kinds of creatures, but three spiders would be overkill. A spider, a scorpion, and a wasp however, would fit great.

What if we combined the Honey Ant idea with the Potter Wasp idea? Ants and wasps are pretty similar, being in the same order (Hymenoptera)

Paralytic Venoms and stings are very common in nature, and reflect better the nature of such poisons in real life. I'm looking for a move that can basically be learned by all natural poison producing pokemon. The alternate for this would be a move that poisons and lowers the foes speed 2 stages, but I like the idea of expanding the range of Poison Pokemons bags of tricks even further.

Have to agree with anon, I'd prefer a wasp within the hunter trio than I would have it replace the regional butterfly. Birdwing is a good suggestion too. Imagine the worlds largest Butterfree.

Poison/Dark(?) - Funnel Web Spider
Poison/??? - Scorpion
Poison/Ground - Wasp w/ Levitate or special ability that also has levitate.

Could be interesting to give them all special abilities that make them immune to one of their weaknesses, to signify how hard they are to kill/avoid. The spider could be Dark type and have an ability making it immune to Fighting, for example.
