This guy was a bro in game and I was wondering how I would build a competitive one?
Also general "how do I build this pokemon" thread. Ask/giveadvise on how to use something.

If you are going competitive go Brave, Leftovers, Contrary (Duh).

Topsy turvy with a trick room up can really help for pokemon getting boosts.

Ok, well if you are OP, don't make a post like "what sets do people like to run for X?" You'll just get copypasta sets from Smogon 90% of the time anyway . And you'll come across as just wanting a handout on something easily googled.
Instead, post some of your own thoughts first. You apparently have a preexisting opinion to some degree of what kinda set you want. Expand on that and ask people what they think of it or what other sets they like.

I asked more for EV spreads because I tries just googling it and everything said trick room or jolly, 252att, 4def, 252spd which I didn't like.

Smogon says evs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 SpD because:

The given EVs bring Malamar to a Leftovers regeneration number + 1 after maximizing Attack, with the rest in Special Defense to help Malamar take hits while it sets up. Leftovers is Malamar's best item because it helps it stay alive longer, but Assault Vest and Choice Scarf are also viable alternatives. With Assault Vest, move 28 HP EVs to Special Defense and use Psycho Cut and Rock Slide as the last two moves. The Assault Vest can be a good option because it shores up Malamar's Special Defensive weakness. On the other hand, with Choice Scarf, use a spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature. This takes care of Malamar's speed deficiency, but note that the best way to use a Choice Scarf Malamar is to make sure any Ghost-type or other Pokemon that resist Superpower are taken care of first and just spam Superpower as much as possible.

works best as a lead, in battle maison its possible for it to beat entire teams if you use it right. In competitive it needs spin or defog support though.

I just got 5IV Brave Snover and Rash (or Hasty? Not sure) Houndour from Wonder Trade. Never trained a mixed attacker before, what should their EV spreads be? Megabomasnow probably going to be a tankish mixed attacker and Mega Houndoom a speedy mixed attacker.

I've been using this one:

Roserade@Black Sludge
252 HP, 252 SpD, 6 Def, +SpD nature.
Natural Cure
-Energy Ball
-Sludge Bomb
-Dazzling Gleam
-Rest

As a bulky attacker set with recover options, works pretty well. You could always make it more offensively oriented by investing in SpA and Spe with Timid as its nature.

Metagross is still okay in doubles, due to Clear Body negating the prominent Intimidate, and its access to Bullet Punch. I'm personally running

Life Orb
Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, Hone Claws, Protect

But that's because I have two Fake Outers and a Follow Me user, so setting up is easier. Generally, I'd say Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, Bullet Punch and Protect is the go-to moveset. Ice Punch can be nice over MM or BP too.

I run avalugg with recover/avalanche/earthquake/rapid spin, though i've had times i really wanted stone edge, particularly vs smogon bird, who i can take a hit from, but generally can't KO with a comfortable amount of life left.

I run weakness policy and found mirror coat to be a bit gimmicky, has anyone considered running a shell bell on him? I know lugg can recover back from some depressingly low HP, could this potentially give him miltiple mirrors?

Mirror Coat will only be worth it once Cutsap Berry is available, or whichever berry was it that gave him priority.

It basically ensures a kill on a special attacker while letting him survive the next attacker as long as its not something that can 2HKO him.

Makes it a lot easier to get +6/+6/+6 and can literally sweep entire teams if you play it right. Even assuming your opponent switches out on the sleep, you can still get to +2 which along with STAB Hurricane is enough OHKO a whole lot of things that aren't special walls or resist it.

Sash + Quiver dance is more efficient. Actually lets you setup and have a bit more coverage.

Powder basically forces you to sacrifice either Sleep Powder or Bug Buzz

It has 252 Evs in Def and 100 in HP, but im not sure in what else to spend the other 152 i have left.
I was thinking of using Leech Seed, Will o Wisp, maybe Trick and something else.
