I bred two Swirlixes with hexaperfect IVs so I could breed more Swirlixes with hexaperfect IVs easier but I only planned to give them physical moves anyway so the special attacking IVs were completely useless and it didn't really get any easier to hatch new ones with 6 perfect IVs either.

I have a breeding related question:

I'm trying to breed 6IV Ralts. I have bred three boxes of Ralts with different IV combinations and the best one so far is 5IVs with perfect Speed missing.
I have put following Pokemon to day care: a male Swalot with Destiny Knot (IVS: HP, Attack) and a female Ralts with Everstone (IVs: Defence, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defence, Speed).

Is it normal that it takes so much time to breed 6IV Pokemon or am I doing something wrong?

Only in your case. Try using two Ralts, and not limiting the male to 2 IVs.

Get a better Swalot. Or another parent. Breeding 2IVs w/ 4IVs for a 6IV is just prolonging your suffering.

Chances are you already have good male Ralts. Replace the Swalot with that.

Okay, I'll replace Swalot with Ralts (I have good 4IV males). I'm new to IV breeding and I thought that the parents must not have same perfect IVs, but it seems that's false.

For one breeding project, I got so caught up with matching the right IVs that it took me five minutes of no eggs to realize I'd left two females.

On another, I gave the destiny knot to the pokemon with the right nature, and the everstone to the one without it.

... With this kind of record I really don't know how I've turned out so many 6IVs.

I keep limiting myself to a 3 iv male cause it's the only good JPN ralts I have. Masuda method is suffering. I'd be doing a 6 iv ralts to but I'm not into Gallade so why bother with attack?>>16505600

If both parents have the same perfect IVs it actually makes it easier to get perfectIV in that stat.

Also wanting a 6IVs Gardevoir is stupid, giving "her" 31IVs on attack is just asking to hurt yourself more with foul play and swagger.

Just the other day I was using a Synchronize Brave Ralts when catching some Pokemon in Friend Safari, for whatever reason it starts levelling up and I evolve it into Gallade because hey I need the dex entry and male Gardevoir is kinda odd.

I catch a bunch with the new Gallade up front, check the PC- natures all wrong. I'm scratching my head in confusion...
Gallade's ability changes to steadfast.
I'm a twit. Now I need to go catch new Pokemon and breed a new Brave Synchronize Ralts.

Yeah, Destiny Knot was never designed to help you hit the last stat. You should just going for 5IV without attack if Gardevoir and without Sp.atk if Gallade. Neither of them work well as mixed sweepers.

Having a tiny attack stat is actually for the better with a special attacker, since it will reduce the damage you take from confusion and Foul Play.

I think that the generall catch is to carry a few fainted Synchro Raltses/Abras in addition to your catcher Gallade in order to make it work.

Unless I remembered this one wrong.

No you see, I was just having the Gallade as a 'Synchronizer' before I realized its ability changed.

I use a Breloom as my catcher. Normally I won't have my Synchronizer Pokemon fainted though, it'll just be out front.

Synchronize works in terms of nature if a Pokemon with the ability is first in the party, alive or fainted. I just was a twit and didn't realize Gallade had a different ability as I only evolved it on a whim...

Speaking of Synchronizers, did they change the mechanics this generation?

I remember re-catching Mewtwo with my Timid Ralts fainted in the front slot ten or so times, but all I got were bad Natures. Then for kicks, I revived the Ralts, let her die and then the next three times I I re-fought Mewtwo had a Timid Nature. Or was this just my dumb luck?

Getting the desired nature with Synchronizer isn't 100%, so it depends on your luck. I suggest sending your Ralts to battle in the front and then switching it out. That's how I've done it and succeeded.
