With Sunny Day up, Special Attack Charizard is a fucking beast.
Mega evolve that into Charizard Y and with his coverage range and stats he isn't gunna lose to many pokes.

Charizard X is just ridiculously strong too, especially if you have stick web support, or get off a DDance, or baton pass him a speed boost.

If you haven't realized it yet, Dragon/Fire is a fucking BOSS ass typing and you can't OHKO charizard in this state with anything but earthquake, stone edge and loldragon move.

It also helps that people try to hit it with stuff hes weak to as fire/flying before he transforms. If you're not a complete mongrel retard, one DD is enough to make him sweep an entire team with just Dragon Claw and Flare Blitz, 2 means theres no chance of anything that can kill it living.

Long story short, hes the new Salamence.

I've seen a Mega X set with Belly drum, Flame charge, Dragon claw and Earthquake.

Drum behind a batton-passed substitute and flame charge hurts like a bitch while Zard gets speed boost. It seems to work at specific situations.

In gen 1, Fire didn't resist Ice, making it weak to Ice Beam/Blizzard.

Fire's been getting defensive buffs since gen 2, and now takes a solid second place to Steel alone for number of resists.

Theres not really a reason to use him compared to many other dragons especially considering he has to switch in as Charizard first

Also it wastes your mega slot which you could spend on something more broken like Gengar or Lucario or Garchomp

I would say the biggest thing Salamence has over it is Hydro Pump. Also a 2x ground weakness is better then 4x ice also since Charizard got a defense buff to take at least one earthquake at max health.

Haunter's design is way superior.

Mega gengar's design is even worse then gengar's original design.

His over developed 3rd eye looks stupid, considering he doesn't even become a psychic type. It doesn't even match the color scheme they chose.

At least the shiny is white, so you have some incentive to evolve gastly now. Very little incentive. Blue gastly is beautiful.

Let's face it. People only REALLY hate Charizard because he's popular and always has been. Yes, some of his fan base is unbearable, especially people who think he's the strongest EVAR!
