I accidentally killed it once.

It goes out of the fight, says "X/Y stares at you intently" or some shit like that, and you talk to it again to re-trigger the fight.

I've heard a rumor that if you run out of pokeballs, one of the Plasma grunts will give you a masterball, but I don't know if it's true.

And box 31 doesn't open until you catch X/Y, so you can't fill your boxes up to keep from being able to catch it.

It's a 100% required catch to continue the game.

hell, even Zygarde will respawn after you beat the E4 if you accidentally kill him

the box legends in X/Y are piss easy to catch, but anything can be caught with a pokeball, given enough luck.

Yeah, in BW you could get out of the mandatory dragon catch with full boxes so they had to write in a almost entirely unused refight for it elsewhere. The box thing was so they didn't have to revisit that.

They REALLY didn't want you having any excuse not to get the box legend. I just released the fucker out of spite. Hate anything forced on me.

I've always caught everything in a regular pokeball, I never really liked the other balls. Even in when I started out with blue, pokeballs were all I used. Catching any pokemon in them isnt really that hard.
