It's a forest guardian that pities how bad a type Grass is, so it gets moves to help out Grass-types, but is smart enough not to be Grass-type itself. The appearance is simply mimicry to hide from humans.

I cause rage on Battlespot using it + physically defensive Trevenant. Pretty nice. It may die easily to physical attacks but as long as you predict them it can really be annoying to fight.

I would think that as a type vaguely based around magical creatures, it has a ridiculously dismal movepool. The fact that it its ability encourages synergy with a type that literally shares all of its weaknesses isn't helping it to be useful either.
