So, we can all agree that Game Freak no longer gives a shit about the gyms and the league and now focuses more on the evil teams, right? I mean, especially this old fuck is forgettable.

No, we can't all agree. This isn't the first time the gym leaders haven't done much. See Gen 1 and 3 for examples there. Gen 2 as well I guess. And 4 too really.

The 3D model issue was clearly because the game was rushed, it's pretty apparent in a lot of places. The pacing was also really weird. It was slow and leisurely up until getting Mega Lucario, then you suddenly beat the next 4 gyms in like, 2 hours.

If you're in highschool, fail Maths, then retake it the following year and fail again, you're not justifying in failing a second time because you failed once before.

The exact same thing happens here. GF showed in Gen 5 that they can make gym leaders relevant and have some depth and going back to make them unmemorable and worthless in Gen 6 is an even bigger fuck-up because they could, they SHOULD and they have the ability to do better but instead were lazy and went back to the old faulty ways.

The reason they're more forgettable isn't because they play a smaller role, but because we likely haven't played these games as much as the older ones.

I really hate that they focused on the evil team, which you never really felt the presence of
Literally one second you're just clearing them out of a factory, then with no fucking build up you just get a phone call from the main villain saying he's going to blow up the world for no properly explained reason.
I really felt that B/W was the best out of the series, story wise. You had a large cast of characters that actually felt involved, and an evil team which wasn't doing some stupid "epic" plot to use Pokemagic to blow the planet up.
I'd love a game where there was no evil team to speak of, and you were just on an adventure. Where GF focused on exploration and characters instead of garbage anime plot to appeal to 9 year olds, which sadly won't change since that's the target audience.

Gen 2 and maybe 5 are the only ones that come to mind where gym leaders play a remotely bigger role than what's written there. You can't seriously complain that all the gym leaders don't have scenes outside their gyms. That's never been a thing.

tbh I think the story as a whole was a big step back from Gen 5's; N and Ghetsis were great characters with backstory, depth, character development, and motives. Lysandre was a bad guy, and that's all.

All of Gen 5 gym leaders had at least some sort of role outside the gym in Gen 5. Some bigger than the others, it wasn't perfect, but it was a step in the right direction.

Then Gen 6 comes along and goes back to making almost every single gym leaders a doormat once again.

And no they're not justified in doing that shit again, just because it was that way in Gen 1-4.

Pokemon is falling apart because of the competition. it happened before, kids couldnt get pass the psyducks on gen 4 and they abandon the game. thats why games are easy now, we barely have shit to do with HMs.

everything is simple now because it is very easy to lose them

Hardly any of it was important. Just because a character talks to you a bit out of their natural setting, doesn't really give them "depth."
You're complaining about something which isn't an issue at all, and hey, there's a good chance of something like XY2/Z coming out which might deliver something similar to gen 5.

the closer we get to that was the gym freak thing on TV.

What they all, as individuals, did was largely unimportant, I agree, but what they showed through their collective actions was VERY important: They showed the Gym Leaders as having a policing role. They've not done that to the same extent since Lance fighting Team Rocket. Remember, in BW the Gym Leaders banded together to fight a huge criminal organisation!

Also the dragon guy acted as a source of knowledge for the player concerning the legend they're about to be a part of, which is also important.
