Is playing the Pokemon trading card game more frowned upon than playing the Pokemon video game?

Joined a Facebook group for people who like Pokemon in my area.
They can talk about the game all day long, but no one responds to my post asking about the TCG.

Card games that aren't playable with a bicycle deck will always be less socially acceptable than video games. Hearthstone (that Blizzard MTG clone) might get more casuals into card games, but it will be a long while before that bleeds into Pokemon cards.

It really is. I get that age doesn't matter so long as you do something you love but when you're up there alone (as an adult )with kids half your size it just makes everything seem sad.

I've been to a Pokemon TCG League Challenge a few weeks ago. There were other adults too: 4 -including me- in their early 20's, an older man I didn't get to play, and a mom who basically schooled me pretty hard. Of course, there were younger teenagers and kids who played in their separate divisions. I had a good time, and I didn't feel embarrassed knowing that there were people and families there of all ages playing the tcg.

What's really embarrassing is tying a sweater around your waist.
I only played Pokemon like twice as a child, and once as a late teen (for a lark with a friend, using fake card from a flea market), so I can't really say much else.
