There will be more females in the hordes that way (75%) unless the female rate is naturally higher than that. You can pass down hidden abilities by breeding males with Ditto now, but I find it easier just getting a female.

Yeah, it tells you what it was before it changes it to Insomnia. There are other abilities and moves that do similar things but I already had the Skiddo.
