You don't like that there is so many modes of transportation, I got that much.
But you never actually said why, except for some vague description of "simplicity". Wouldn't simplicity just be one single mode of movement, not two?
In addition, you said two modes is fine and four is overkill. But if you just used walking or running + riding the pokemon where you needed to, that would be two modes. But then you said it doesn't matter how many you use, but how many exist.
Basically, you don't like X/Y because they added extra optional things to a game that's very nearly 18 years old.
