Gengar is my favorite Pokemon and I want to use a Mega Gengar on Battle Spot.

What strategies did Smogon base their ban on? I want to use one of those.

The perish song set was a large factor in it. His overall flexibility also played a part in it

perish trapping mostly, which as has been said, can't do until pokebank. he also does well as a revenge killer that pretty much guarantees the kill, like a stronger dugtrio from back when. The point was that he killed what you wanted dead, and usually took something down with him if he got beat.

It can at very least take down one Pokemon using Destiny Bond or Perish Song. If he does any damage to the opponents team beyond that, I'd say that qualifies as good.

you have missed the point entirely, I said mega gengar is shit in 3v3 battle spot, not shit in a non-existent metagame that no one has played yet

perish song won't be that good on it anyway, 3v3 is too offensive for it to work as well as it does in 6v6
