I don't know how late to the party I am but has anyone else seen this shit? You can clone pokemon in X and Y apparently. This seems like a great way for people to give out shiny's or 4/5 IV pokemon.

Which is surprising to me since people beg each other for shiny pokemon all of the time. Doing this would allow everyone to be happy. Though like >>16574485 said, it would make shiny pokemon less appealing. Although depending on how Pokebank is gonna work, the only pokemon that will retain their "value" will be Kalos pokemon.

I saw a way to do this on Youtube that apparently required your SD card and fucking with your savedata in a minor way. Super sketchy and he made a suspicious as hell jumpcut 3/4 of the way into the video. Not willing to try it and the comments (despite being Youtube comments) were mixed because people were failing all over the place but people with Digital copies claimed it worked just fine.

It should. The item being held by the cloned pokemon will be cloned along with it. I already cloned my Leftovers which was much easier than running around with a lv100 pick-up pokemon.

As long as the person with the pokemon being cloned understands what to do about turning off the system, you can do this over wifi with no hassle at all.
