Come in an obvious thing that will get rekt by his standard moveset.

Boltbeam is ridiculously good neutral coverage though
Boltbeam with flame would get you walled by Lanturn anyway. Running Extremespeed lets you hit it and just leaves you against Magnezone.

It's as relevant as Magnezone or Shedinja, the only two that would wall you from Boltbeam+Extremespeed

Nobody's retarded enough to bring in a magnezone against Genesect when 90% of them run U-turn anyway

Rotom-H resists U-turn, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Iron Head. However, it doesn't like switching in because Stealth Rocks.

Heatran is a much better counter, with a 4x resist to U-turn, Ice Beam, and Iron Head, an immunity to fire, a 2x resist for ExtremeSpeed, and a single normal effectiveness when hit by Thunderbolt, which hardly matters due to the fact that Heatran will KO if it gets the chance and it's specially bulky enough to take a Thunderbolt easily, especially ones with an Attack download boost.

Shift Gear was an event, and it only comes with Hasty nature. Not possible to get in game with out FagGen and not worth it in general.

Jesus Christ, I remember looking up the statistics for Genesect's sets back when he was absolutely UUUURRRRVRYWHURE. No Evs, Hardy nature, just slap a scarf on and any fagtron could go to town on his cock, whether you knew what to do or not solely because of Download. And if you didn't already know, if your opponent has the same defenses, Download will automatically raise Special Attack, which is fucking bullshit.

Hasty is usually the recommended nature for a Genesect, and that Event one always had 31 Speed IVs and came with a Choice Scarf.

Every time on Showdown I run into a team with Genesect and no obvious lead (Smeargle, Galvantula, etc.) I always opt to use my Scarf-Garchomp in lieu of my usual AV Tyranitar.

To date I've OHKO'd maybe 15 or so Genesects with Firefang that way.

I hope that Genesect gets banned before I get to a rating where people might actually switch him out.

Even if you used a +attack nature on Genesect (which you shouldn't), he will end up with higher attack after Shift Gear than Rock Polish, even with the forced nature.

So don't ever use Rock Polish on Genesect, unless you enjoy being inferior.
