No but art college lets you in on the circlejerk. If you don't go to art college, you don't know the code for "good art". They have to teach you the standards that they made up so the art critics that were taught the same standards approve of you and you get money. It's a tradition. Like China.

I was an art major before I changed my mind. The economy wouldn't allow it, I feared. After I changed my mind I realized it was a better plan because I would rather keep my hobbies and my work separate. Imagine losing a passion for art because you have to draw stupid shit for work every day, then you don't even feel like drawing your own shit anymore because you do it all day and you need a break. I got a practical degree and now I am a Nurse, which is good and makes good money. I draw this shit in my free time.
