Ughhh! Really? I like using the original starters and admit Blatoise doesn't quite fit but Charizard and Venusaur work we'll together.

I'd think at this point you'd want something physical. If you want to Genwun, you could throw in Hitmonchan? And Espeon for Morning sun + Baton pass shenanigans. Then wrap it up with Lightningrod Pikachu to take electric hits for Blastoise and Charizard.

The problem is, non-mega Blastoise can't get past any of the common spinblockers.

Would you prefer he used the same boring Smogon teams others do?

Also it doesn't take a genius to figure out Charizard and Venusaur work well together. You don't need to use Smogon to figure that out.

Also some variants of the Red trainer run Espeon.

Gen1 and gen 2 are the same. R/B/G was such an onoptimized mess that the game data took up all the memory on the cart. After the debug was removed there was only enough room to sneak mew in before they began production. upon inspection the g/s/c pokemon were ordered around differently and came before some gen 1 pokemon, Rydon being the first ever added.

I am not bothered by the generation, I just love the original starters but I wouldn't mind dropping Blastoise if need be.

I know Tyranitar would fit but I don't really like him. I do like Umbreon and Glaceon but I am not sure I can fit them in.

I think a need a Rock or Ground pokemon on my team.
