I'm not OP, but I just bought a 2ds with a pre-installed digital copy. I'll most likely buy a copy of Z (or X/Y2) and just move my pokemon to it through pokebank, but I was wondering..

Is there a way to move my game and the save files to another console if the one I own breaks?

Pokebank is the only way I can think of.
Your saves are encrypted, they only work with the 3DS they came from.

With the amount of jolly no-lives playing this game, it shouldn't be hard for you to find someone who is giving away pokemon with 5 useful IVs for whatever team you're planning to build.

All you lost were a bunch of crappy minigames and a god-awful main story that makes your braincells burn in agony.

Hey OP, I just sent mine into Nintendo and paid them to fix it . Tell them it had bad accidental damage but you want your save data if possible. I did this with a Wii

I got a 2ds+digital copy bundle.

Then again I'm only killing time until Wario 3D Land and the 3DS remakes of the Dragon Quest Monsters games come out.

but also what I wanted to tell you is I think the 3DS saves the save data on the SD Card, not inside the digital copy. So take out your SD card and it should be safe. However, take out your SD card and send in your unit to Nintendo in order to get the digital copy of the game back... pop in SD Card and it should work just fine

I'm pretty sure they don't give a fuck as they are technicians replacing plastics and internal electronic components. They aren't going to boot into you fucking game and look through your boxes. Are you kidding me? They will turn it on, verify functionality with some sort of test, make sure it boots a cartridge, and hopefully restore your account (if the main board is replaced).

It seems like only my 3ds battery died so I'll just buy a new one from Nintendo's shop.

Thanks for the help, anyway. It was my first Nintendo handheld since the GBC so I had no clue about how this thing actually functioned.

Ok maybe I'm dumb for thinking this but when I use the 3ds online store, I have it linked to a club nintendo account. While I'm 99% sure it doesn't save a copy of your save file, but surely nintendo has some way of telling that you purchased the game through this. So at the very least they should be able to get you another digital copy.

No, dude. There are hints that the 3DS remakes will come out next year as part of the NA 25th Anniversary of Dragon Quest. We might also get unreleased games of the main series.

If anything I'm more worried about Nintendo never releasing a Wario 3D Land.
