I could make that argument that it also nullifies the need for trading somewhat, but i understand that for some people that is very much a BAD thing, so I won't go there.
I guess my point and the part you quoted was more related to competitive battling. I honestly don't do much trading myself, so I want try to make an argument I know little about, so you could well be right on that point.
I will say though that it seems much of the anger towards Pokegen seems to be not about how it ruins the game, but how for some people it supposedly ruins their feeling of accomplishment from breeding, which is something i think people shouldn't really bother about.
