It's still so slow that any decently powerful move from something faster is going to knock him out.
There's just too much flying around this gen for it to be anything more than a one trick pony.
That said, Golurk is one of my favorite pokemon and you could definitely make him work.
It's just that you're gonna have to abuse his strengths to the fullest, (Fighting,Electric,Normal Immunity;DynamicPunch 100% accuracy) in order to get any return at all.

I realize that I should probably have one or two guys to deal with primary threats like that but when I do have counters for them, I somehow get out sped, they take a hit like it's nothing or they get a crit or some shit.
