I'm gonna say I don't really care for the whole "it's easy so it sucks" thing Gen 5 and 6 have going on. At least you have a ridiculous variety of Pokemon and the jump to 3D in Gen 6 made the games more beautiful, especially with the fantastic music. Kalos was a fairly linear journey, but I enjoyed it every step of the way.
I'd rather it be simple and easy than be like DPPt where it's basically too big for it's own good sometimes, as good as Platinum is. Using all the different HMs got really tedious. I do miss the tougher battles somewhat, though. There's nothing in Gen 6 that makes you shit bricks like BW1 Ghetsis or Colress or Cynthia.
Each gen has something to offer, though.
Also I like/love most of Gen 5 and 6's Pokemon. Most of my favourites come from the later gens, despite me having played Pokemon since it first came out in the West.
