I really just set those aside because they either are or will be in Ubers. The rest are about improvements, or, in Mega-Gyarados's case, how it's mega allows it to almost completely flip it's weaknesses around to fuck over the player + kill Rotom-W, despite the fact that the base stats and typing doesn't seem impressive.

Mewtwo w/ Life Orb doesn't score any notable OHKOs or 2HKOs that MMY doesn't get. MMY doesn't suffer from Life Orb recoil, prolonging its longevity.

Additionally, MMY has more special bulk in a metagame dominated by special attackers and is immune to sleep (Spore, Dark Void, etc.).

The increased speed also allows to it to break speed ties with other Mewtwo and Mega Gengar,

I've used him and got to ~1950 ranking with him on PS! on a testing alt. He hits like a fucking truck, but he speed ties with a lot of things and he doesn't like taking hits, and he is made a bitch by Aegislash and Talonflame. I've used most of the megas on the average list and he is on their level.
