Back then, the Pokemon data was identical.

Transferring from one gen to the next involves a small bit of conversion (trash bytes, etc) that isn't compatible with the earlier gen.

EV training is optional to begin with, and is a clusterfuck to deal with. In other franchises making something more open and less of (excuse this Tv Trope shit but I can't articulate it) a Guide Dang It would unanimously be a good thing. Not to mention it makes grinding less boring.

8-bit music is not rock. It's 8-bit and it has its own niche. I certainly preferred the 8-bit tunes of RBY and GSC to their remixed versions of the remix, but 8-bit tunes are not and will never be rock. They can however be remixed in quite a number of ways, including but not limited to rock.

No, that's stupid. You can have very many variations of pop using electric guitar, and that's JUST pop. But what makes rock rock is a mix of many elements that you just can't duplicate on an 8-bit sound card. This is especially true on rock n roll because with just minor variations you can turn it to blues or jazz.
