Each Gen has its imperfections, from Gen One's OP psychic type to Gen III lacking backwards compatibility to a majority of Gen VI.

So why not take a guess on what will be GameFreak's next blunder?

Plenty of time to get your shitmons transferred. Afterwards, if you have a problem paying per year what a 10-year old child has for a weekly allowance, then you don't need to continue.

Lifelong poorfag here, I got $1 per week at 10, and a couple years after that I stopped getting an allowance at all. If I was ten years old I would have had to save for a month to buy Pokébank.

I never had an allowance either, but that doesn't mean I have a hard time scraping together five bucks for a service that lasts an entire fucking year.

It's not like this is some pay-2-play MMO with a $60 subscription fee.

Oh wait, instacheck died so you're going to want to transfer your 2 shinies and 8 good pokemon as well. That's gonna take at least 2 months to do since you're so incompetent that it takes 4 days to transfer each pokemon.

If I choose to restart my SS file, and I find a shiny Pokémon, I'll want to transfer it to Gen V, and then transfer it to Gen VI. If I find it after that thirty-day trial ends, I have to pay money, and I would prefer having to do tedious minigames than pay money for something that was previously free.

Ok, no one likes having to pay money to transfer pokemon, and if all it was was the ability to transfer then it would be complete bullshit. However because you are paying for 3K spaces of box space on a massive server, everyone else has pretty much accepted that it makes sense. It's all one thing, 5 dollars is nothing, quit being a whiny little bitch.

Yes, that makes sense, 3K spaces makes sense, but not including a separate free tool to transfer Pokémon does not make sense.

I mean, it makes sense for Nintendo since they like money, but it's not a reasonable decision considering it was completely free in the past.

And it was only tied to one save file.

This one is on a server, which is backed up incase the memory fucks up, and can be transfered over to any X and Y game linked to your 3DS.

It was only free for 3->4 gen actually
1->2 required a second gameboy and a link cable, which is about 50-60 bucks I think.
2->3 was non existant
3->4 was free
4->5 required a second DS which is about I'd imagine 80 bucks at the cheapest assuming you get an old clam shell DS. If you're complaining about it being free in the past, it was only ever free once, so even that's not a solid argument.

Here, you're forced to pay for something you can only use for Pokémon.

Conveniently having a friend doesn't detract from the fact that it still cost. Someone payed for your ability to transfer through the gens at some point, just like you'll have to pay at some point too.

to be fair, Box and Ranch were ONLY peripheral storage facilities. And Ranch had rewards for you iirc
You couldn't put a mon from Emerald into Ranch to get it to Platinum like you would have to do with Bank to get mons from gen 5 games to gen 6 games.

Not saying I'm against Bank, but just noting that.
