I groan extremely hard whenever I see a team with ninjask/smeargle/or any baton passing. Mostly 'cause it's a free win and a waste of my time. It's a bad strategy that nets free wins once in a while if you're not prepared.

7/10 times they just ragequit when their super special combo didnt go off because they can't take the pressure of actually playing a pokemon game.

I don't even use Ditto anymore. People who see it leave immediately after finding out its using Impostor and I just happened to use it on their stat upgradef Mega Pokemon and go first thanks to Choice Scarf. I swear I get people quitting on me more than trick room teams, Baton pass teams, stall teams and Double team/evasive teams, all because I use Ditto.

Yes.
It also bypasses Sub and Magic Bounce.
Trevenant happens to be immune to Spore too so any BP auto-loses against it.

I don't get the obsession with BP teams.
Why dedicate an entire team around it when it only takes a misprediction to lose the battle when an unexpected and well-played Baton Pass in a standard team can yield the same results for almost no risk?

Because most people who build Baton Pass teams hinge the success of the team solely on the ability to abuse the Baton Pass. As soon as that strategy is broken the team is useless.

tl;dr: Baton pass times are poorly built.

Baton pass teams were a threat in gen 3 and to a lesser extent gen 4 because you could baton pass Mean Look/Spider Web back then and Team Preview didn't exist.

I'm pretty sure Ingrain+Baton Pass Smeargle was banned in gen 3 on simulators because it was considered broken/uncompetitive.

Pretty much this.
Baton pass teams are screwed by team preview since they usually run things like Smeargle, Espeon, Vaporeon, Mew, Celebi, Gliscor and Scizor so it's an extremely predictable strategy.

Baton passers ragequit as soon as you use whirlwind/dragon tail/roar/haze.
Guess they can't deal with the risks of playing a high risk, high reward strategy.

But i think using a "turbo" passer is a unfair strategy.

Look at turbo Blaziken, the turbo Scolipede use almost the same strategy and turbo Blaziken was banned for that reason.

Indeed, 3 BP is enought, because if the chain is broken, you need to react quickly, a full BP team can't.
