So did they fix the friends list issue?

I still have a bunch of friends whom I removed from the 3DS menu that still appear on my friends list ingame.

But that's the thing, I don't want these people on my friends list anymore. They're all people whom I traded with and now I can't remove their icons from my friends list ingame.

It's been there since the beginning.
It's just that if you delete someone their trainer mugshot still stays on the game.

GUYS OKAY CALM DOWN THIS IS HOW YOU FIX IT.

This bothered me too, I hated having my bottom screen cluttered up with the icons of people I had deleted ages ago. There's a really simple, quick fix for this.

Put your game in a different 3DS and start it up. That's all.
I stuck my Pokemon X in my buddy's 3DS, started the game up, and my Friends List was totally cleared out (as it reads the Friend List from the 3DS itself)

Obviously this only works if you can get your hands on another 3DS, but it works and is the only solution I've found. I agree that there needs to be a proper DELETE function, but at least there's this roundabout way.
And don't worry about the people you want to keep as Friends, they'll pop back up again when they're online next.

Do people that I still have friend cards for and added ingame stay? I don't want to have to re-add all my real life friends, just people I traded once with and never talked to again.

Also, thanks based anon for a legitimate response, I've been ripping my hair out. I e-mailed Nintendo and called customer support--but found no fix.

Yep, that's all you have to do. Just start up your game in a different 3DS.

Yes, they do. Their little Trainer Icon on your bottom screen will disappear, but it will pop back up again once they come online.

Ok you just made my month. I'll start playing again once they get home and I can erase this garbage. Below is a boring ass blog, thanks for the help mate!

A few weeks ago I was bummed out, couldn't erase friends and I had almost all the Pokemon I wanted to use with the IVs they needed and EV trained, I was just waiting for bank and then I heard about battle analyzer and just lost the interest to play on wifi.

Now that analyzer is patched and you've told me this, my inspiration to play has returned. Time to put the finishing touches on my team before bank comes out.

I was going absolutely mental trying to find a solution for this as well, don't worry. I totally know your pain.

I'm a little bit OCD about organization whenever I play games (Party Members have to all be the same level, items have to be arranged a specific way, etc etc) so having long-deleted Friends cluttering up my bottom screen made me crazy.

I busted my ass for days online trying to find a solution, and eventually stumbled across this "fix" when I tried playing Pokemon X over at my friends house. MASSIVE RELIEF.

I'm really glad I could help out. All the best with starting to play again!
