Believe it or not, Shinies do have worth. Worth is simply defined as, "The quality that renders something desirable, useful, or valuable". Worth is relative to every individual. For instance, I ride motorcycles. I personally prefer that my bike is factory stock. I very much do dislike Chrome and see it as gaudy (let's be honest, polished aluminum looks much nicer). Some people though live for chrome, and get everything possible chromed on their bike. A chopper that has been chromed to hell is worth a lot less to me than somebody who works at OCC or is into the chopper scene. Likewise, somebody who loves choppers probably looks at my classic, stock bike and thinks of it as worth less than his chopper.
Worth is defined by the individual. Some people are paying money for Shinies, hence they have worth to some people. To be clear though, I would never pay for a Shiny. I like the way some look, but not enough to bend over backwards to get one.
