/vp/, I am confident - no, SURE - that the games "Pokemon X and Y," as released in stores this past October, are not the real games that we were promised. They are not the real X and Y - merely decoys designed to satiate the lowest common denominator while Gamefreak finishes work on the REAL gen 6. The clues to this conclusion are numerous.
For one, the time between gen 5 and 6 was too short. There is no way Gamefreak would release a rushed product to the masses unless it was not intended as a final release version. Second, unexplained mysteries (the ghost girl, etc) in X and Y point to the existence of an elaborate ARG, related to Reggie Fils-Aime's mysterious envelope, which I believe will begin on January 1, 2014. This will be the ultimate ARG in history and lead to the release of the TRUE X and Y to Pokemon's most dedicated fans.
I eagerly await the coming of the real gen 6. I am incredibly confident that I have uncovered the amazing truth and an answer to why gen 6 itself was so underwhelming. the True Gen is yet to come.
