Op here, Thanks man! I've always wanted to try out a Gastrodon. Maybe for perhaps a competitive team. To be honest I don't know what to expect.

Yah you can run him on a sandstorm team with sand force if you are aren't daunted by the Nerf, otherwise use stormdrain and switch in on water attacks for a free boost.

Gastro is great. It can toxic/burn wall so many things and recover off what little damage they do.
Just watch out for Charizard. The fact it could be 2 different megas, one of which can solar beam without charging kills the Gastrodon.
Most fire types are pretty easy to take out, Charizard you gotta find out of he is X. Y or normal first.
