I've been playing competitive since gen V, but I always played singles only.

Now I want to get into Doubles so I can play VGC, but I just can't into doubles!

so I need some tips about teambuiding and actually battling for this format, care to help /vp/?

So, Fake Out is a thing here, ok. I will need to counter Dark Void. Safe Guard is the only option? what about abilities like Insomnia or Vital Spirit?

Safeguard counters it and all of the status, but Taunt works pretty fine too.
The only Dark Void user allowed in VGC2014 is Smeargle, so you can outspeed and sleep/kill it before it uses Dark Void. Fake Out breaks the sash and a Fighting move kills Smeargle.

What about moves which hit multiple targets? I know their damage is halved. Are they worth it?

Yup, moves like Earthquake, Muddy Water or Heat Wave work pretty nice, but don't be abusive, there's a lot of WideGuard supporters out there.

Watch some VGC & WCS battle videos and you'll learn all the mechanics fast. Then you just need to be creative and you'll have lot of fun with VGC.

That would work on triple battle. You must remove WonderGuard off, if not you can't Skill Swap Shedinja :S

Skill Swap is funny: Dry Skin Cresselia, Levitate Heatran, Prankster Smeargle...

I'm guessing that if something has bad defenses it is downright unplayable in doubles, right? I mean, with the fact that there are always two potential mons about to attack yours...

Well, almost everything is playable, because you have things like Follow Me/Rage Powder or Protect, but bulky mons are preferred, of course.

play some simulator VGC.

hazards aren't a thing in VGC

weather and/or trick room is important in VGC...

protect/fake out is pretty important

leftovers is worthless because the average match is short... sitrus berry or focus sashes are better

Setup moves essentially blow. Band/Specs/Life orb or bust.

Any good 1v1 mons are usually crap for VGC... like Blissey, Wobbufett, aegislash

If you get dark voided... you essentially lost.
