Contest made all moves ignore anything game related, but even then there were always things done in the anime that you can't do in the game.

The anime would be the more "realistic" version of pokemon, but the contests manage to take things a bit too far.

It's not anime; Pokemon is a cartoon. Anime doesn't just mean any animated thing from Japan. There are non-Japanese animes, and there are Japanese cartoons. Pokemon is one of those.

Actually, technically there is no such thing as animé.

The Japanese call everything animated animé. Westerners use the term animé to refer to specifically Japanese animé, but it's not the true meaning because it just means animated. So taking that into account, you can call whatever the fuck you want animé.

Double Team's Japanese name is Kage no Bushin, "Shadow Doppleganger", thus the way it's portrayed in the show is pretty much inspired by how that ninja technique's usually portrayed in other anime.

The dub's script is beyond awful. The first couple of seasons weren't so bad, but when it got to AG it got painful. They need someone new to adapt the script, it's been the same person since season 5. Not every human being is a wisecracking slang dictionary.
