Call a battle and wait for 3 replies and get started! To start a multi battle you just offer to make a battle with someone on the PSS and select four-player match and invite people. Once everyone has agreed, the battle starts. It's three pokemon per person from either the battlebox or your partym with each person allowed to mega evolve a pokemon.
