How hard is it to breed a perfect HP Fire Froakie? I really want one, and I've bred perfects before, but finding the imperfect stats seems pretty hard to do.

>>16678525 It's more difficult to verify, especially since Instacheck is dead. Otherwise, once you get some parents with the appropriate IVs, it's much the same as anything else.
The easiest way to be sure is to take them to the Battle Institute. The stat progression for 30 and 31 are the same at LV. 50, so if the IV checker doesn't say the IV is perfect, then it's 30.
Neo 4399-0021-4483
>>16678650 Ugh, that sounds like a hassle... If I can't find someone with a reject HP Fire I'll probably use Ice Beam instead.
Anonymous
>>16678710 I managed to do the heavy work with Instacheck, so I have a frog with HP Fire, but I already cleared out the spares. I can throw it in the daycare and see if I can get a passable reject to at least get you started.

I have a Clamperl with HP Fire that I don't really need (I heard HP Fire is for Ferrothorn, but that's about it). I could give it to you.

>>16678948 Okay, just wanted to help. I find HP Fire more annoying to breed than HP Ice or Grass due to needing tp verify if you have 30 on Spe and SpA.
Neo 4399-0021-4483
>>16679032 From what I can tell it seems like one of the more difficult HPs to breed. I just found where the HP psychic is--I had three boxes full of Froakies from trying different natures and spreads, and not one of them was Fire. Lots of Dragon, some Dark, Grass and Ice, but not a single Fire.
Anonymous
>>16679078 It's going to be a while, since Battle Institute won't let you take two of the same Pokemon into a test. I'm going to work on figuring out the Time Machine method, since it's probably a hell of a lot easier.

Alright, doing the Time Machine with some Wonder Trash right now. It turns out I have some female Froakies with either 30 SpA or Spe, but none with both. I'll see if I can get the destiny knot to cooperate.

>>16681501 It needs an uneven HP, even Atk, uneven Def, even SpA, uneven SpD, and even Spe. So the highest possible spread for HP fire is 31/30/31/30/31/30, so the 28 Atk isn't too far off.

Marcus 4742-6094-5317
>>16681555 Yup. The frog I'm using doesn't have any Physical attacks, and only 16 Atk, which still qualifies it, so it's not as much of a pain as you might think. Even if you get the perfect spread from the Destiny Knot, you still get a 50/50 chance of the Atk stat turning up correctly. For a total Special set Greninja, the best spread would actually be 31/0/31/30/31/30, in case of Swagger.
Marcus 4742-6094-5317
>>16681565 What I really need for this process is a female Protean Froakie with 31/x/31/30/31/30, then I could brute force it instead of doing this time machine business.

>>16681659 Sorry to intrude, but what do you mean by "brute force it"? Just keep breeding until you get it?
Marcus 4742-6094-5317
>>16681930 Basically. Once you have both parents with desirable IV spreads, you just generate as many eggs as possible and a certain percentage of them are statistically likely to match your goal. The Time Machine setup is easier to manipulate if you have a wide selection of partial matches, but takes longer.
