Yeah. It's a strategy used commonly in Pokemon. Pancham is not at all common though. It's one of the rarest on its route.

Alright, I've got a dilemma that you guys might be able to help me with.

My Goodra has Acid Armor, which is great, but I was planning on running my Goodra with Assault Vest, which means I can't use Acid Armor. So would it be more viable to use Goodra with Assault Vest and replace Acid Armor with another move, or would it be more viable to keep Acid Armor and use Leftovers?

I just looked it up, in the grass pancham is just rare, in the flowers it is very rare. The same is reversed for furfrou, I looked in the flowers where it was rare, but in the grass its average. I used flowers because it was easier to see the shaking grass.

Furfrou and Pancham are actually rare in the purple flowers but common in the grass areas.

Today I went to a steel Friend Safari to catch some Metangs to breed a 5IVs Beldum.
First pokemon that apear is a Metang.
Shiny.
Now I have a shiny Metagross with 2IVs and crappy nature.

I've found it's easier to just start growing berries early. Once you have a few getting mutations isn't that hard. And it doesn't take a lot of time away from hunting.

They sort of do, if both parents have perfect IVs for the same 3 stats there's a better chance of passing those. If only one parent has perfect speed and you want to pass that give it an anklet. Now you ensure one of the 5 passed IVs are speed and still have the same chance of passing the other IVs. It's far from perfect but if you're tired of just rolling the dice it's better than nothing.

Now if you're using power items you can't guarantee the offspring will have the right nature so you breed it again with a parent that does.

This is why you breed for IV's first. When breeding for IV's you can still find shinies. But the IV's can be as satisfying as hatching shinies.

Got my shiny Pawniard! 20 boxes, which is the most it's taken me, but I do realise that's still pretty good.
I do love blue shinies. I'll give the safari a go for Magneton next I think, then possibly back to blue with Pinsir.
