Gen 3 had the best pokemon, champions, and battle frontier in my opinion. 4 had the best region and music. 5 and 6 were both really good and had some great pokemon, music, and extra stuff, but I hated what some gen 5 and 6 pokemon turned out to be competitively. Gen 1 was okay, I really liked a lot of the pokemon, but others just had odd appearances that didn't appeal to me later on in life. The music was also a bit bland and the gym leaders didn't have too much personality to them (like in gen 6). Gen 2 did nothing for me, I got Crystal two days after it came out and it bored and frustrated me. The remakes didn't help it much, although I did like the music.
