So thanks to Pokebank OU showing us the upcoming metagame, we know there is not a single OU pokemon introduced this gen.

Only 2 new Ubers, and a bunch of UU or less.

The 3 hidden legens are still unknown.

How does it make you feel we're in for the same metagame we had last gen?

Only a few megas might hit OU and it looks like Megakhan will be Uber also.

I mean, look at the top Pokebank OU player

Not a single gen 6 pokemon.

Talonflame, Greninja and Aegislash are OU for sure.
That's probably about it. Mega Pinsir and Mega Mawile have a shot. Mega Medicham and Mega Heracross haven't seen much use, but they both have a chance too. Mega Scizor, Mega TTar and Mega Garchomp would be easily OU but they're not gonna see more use than their un-mega formes. Mega Lucario is OU as long as it doesn't get banned (and I hope it does). Sylveon and Florges are viable, though I doubt both will make it, but maybe one of them.

If Klefki gets Stealth Rock from tutors in Z, you can bet it's OU. And it has a shot at UU as it is atm, but I can see it going to UU.

I can see Greninja in OU, but only because it would get banned from UU. It doesn't outspeed much, but it does better than Starmie, who might even drop a tier because of the Defog buff. Aegislash is pretty overrated, though. Not sure if it can make it to OU.

tiers are usage based and greninja is currently #5 used, it's as OU as you can get. BL is the ban list for UU and isn't usage based

Its problem isn't the low offensive stats, it's the lack of a recovery move, especially on something that is vulnerable to all entry hazards and sand.
Also Goodra has no business running Gooey. It's not supposed to take physical hits.

Goodra is the best assault vest user, that's its niche.
Also gooey is supposed to aid it in that regard. You can also sacrifice it to a fast sweepers that would otherwise sweep the rest of your team.

Do you even know what diminishing returns are? Assault Vest becomes less and less effective the higher special defense you have. Goodra is better off using Leftovers and stuff like Toxic to do its job.

Assault Vest is best used on things like Conkeldurr, who have high HP and defense but low special defense, as well as a pseudo-recovery move (Drain Punch).

Greninja and Talonflame are only high in usage because whoooo new ability. Greninja is an absolute shitmon, and Talonflame's suicide priority isn't really something that people are going to be value for any length of time.

the brighter green/higher decimal, the higher influence it has had on the games where it was used and the higher amount of games were won while using it; the same applies for the reverse

Aegislash is the easiest Pokemon to predict. Just spam Earthquake with a bulky Pokemon or anything that resist Ghost. It's going to SD while in Shield Form, King Shield the next turn, Shadow Sneak the third turn.

I'm really surprised how low Charizard is ranked. Before the game arrived, people were betting Charizard X and Y would be broken as hell with Fire/Dragon typing essentially canceling each other's weaknesses and Y having great use as a starting entrance. Now its losing to Venusaur, the least popular of the Gen 1 starters. I have to admit though, seeing Blissey, Metagrosss and Cloyster so low reminds me of Snorlax and Machamp getting nerfed which were my favorite Pokemon.

Greninja already has STAB on water and dark, and with its viable moveset it effectively gains it on U-Turn (weak), Ice Beam (I'll give you this one), HP Fire (good but still weak), Grass Knot (lol grass as an offensive type) and that's about it?

So it's not "STAB ON EVERYTHING", but just a boost on coverage moves.
Hardly anything groundbreaking.

Literally no physical dragon is better in terms of sweeping. Salamence/Garchomp/Dragonite/Hax all get stopped cold by fairies and such. Charizard does not, outside azu.

It also loses no damn power with its ability.

It's the premier physical sweeping dragon.

Except what makes Parental Bond broken is Kanga's excelelnt stats and Power-up-punch.
Give that ability to something that can't fully abuse it and it's hardly broken.
