Like how a clock used to pop up when you sent in a pokemon in a timer ball?

They've reduced the animations to basically being a different coloured explosion for each Pokeball. It's basically Game Freak's take on Mass Effect 3

So theres no real point in trying to catch pokemon in specific balls outside of seeing that ball as the icon in your team?

pretty much, I think Dusk Ball has the most noticeable entry effect though so there's that at least
