man how do you guys get so lucky, I can't even breed a fucking marill with more than 2 IVs no matter how hard I try. like, I know I am doing it right, I take a marill with speed and HP, and a ditto with +atk. I give the marill a destiny knot and the ditto a power bracer just for good measure, and after hatching like 30 eggs, half of them don't even have 2 IVs and most of them have only 1.

I tried it as well with just marill destiny knot and ditto with atk IV and I just could not get any results, I hatched like 3 boxes of eggs and I got nothing even CLOSE to what I was looking for, I have to be doing something wrong

I wasn't trying to breed for nature I was trying to get 3 IVs on it, because I was going to do more than 3 IVs and I only need the final 6 IV result to have the nature I desire

They do. The Power item just forces the Destiny Knot to pick that parent's IV for that stat as one of the 5.

Well if all the offspring have the same nature you can breed the best offspring together without ever having to worry about nature down the line.
If you end up getting a 5 IV one with a bad nature then you'll just have to waste more time breeding for the right nature AND passing down those IVs

My first shiny was a female Absol. I was MMing for a shiny to give to my best friend, as she had recently told me Absol was among her favorites, and was feeling sad at the moment, so I thought I would cheer her up if I got her one. The shiny Absol came out of the very first egg. I was nonplussed. She had a terrible nature, but I didn't give a fuck.

I named her Hope before trading her to my friend.

She has 31 IVs in Attack and SpD. Nature benefits SpD and lowers SpA. She's at least usable.

But damn, I like that Whirlipede, OP. Fine job.

Then 2 dittos a week later, the first one struggled to death and the 2nd one almost as well but I threw my masterball at it. No regrets.
And recently I found a shiny protean kecleon and a shiny florette with a blue flower

It took me a day or less to breed my 5iv, ToxicSpikes Jolly Speed Boost Venipede anon, you shouldn't settle for just 3IV, use that and start breeding.
