For the dippy chicken-head guys there were TWELVE identical color variations with a second batch that just had silver trimming because they were SUPER POWERFUL ELITE units or something.
The individual designs were pretty neat but they milked them for all they were worth with six different flavors in an even more shameless "Collect 'em all" move than Pokemon having two game versions.
