I still have it for some reason. Haven't touched it in years. I only used it about 5 or so times because I wanted the Pokemon you can get with the special moves like Pichu with Surf and the Altaria with Flase Swipe

It's simple really Pokemon Box is optional storage, Pokemon Bank is not.

Pokemon Bank is required to send Pokemon up. And before you give me the cliche "It's JUST $5, if you can't afford that you shouldn't play videogames.

It used to be free to transfer Pokemon up with 3>4, and 4>5 if you had a friend with a DS. Pokemon Bank is fine as a storage device and that I am paying for STORAGE but the fact they made it required for transferring Pokemon in irks me.

3 to 4 was the only true transfer option. 4 to 5 required extra hardware, whether it was "your friend's" or not

I was playing Pokemon Colosseum like a week ago, went to move it onto a different memory card, and to no surprise, I was not able to.

Pokémon Box was awesome and much better than its successor Pokémon Ranch, because it allowed mass transfer between carts.

While I don't like the annual fee in Pokébank, I'm glad they went back to the Box mechanics.

I'd actually rather pay a fixed price once than an annual fee.

Also, I only recently learned Box is pretty rare in the US, but I'm in Europe and got mine used at Gamestop for 5€ or something.
