>>16704562No, I see no value in shinies, unlike what you WANT me to see. They're meant to be a rare, random event yes, but that doesn't mean much.
I want a pokemon with a different color because I like the different color more, or it matches a concept I have for the pokemon. It's no more stupid than the people who treat them like gold.
As for that pokemon I got, the only people who think it's worth 'less than a basic first route mon' are people like you who see 'oh, it's instacheck, therefore it has all value missing.' When I see the instacheck signs, all I see is 'oh, this pokemon is good and happens to be a different color palette'. Being instacheck isn't going to make a 5IV Adamant Technician scyther suddenly less than a starting route mon, unless the only thing YOU care about is the fact that it's shiny.
I have two legit Random encounter shinies. One got me excited. It was imposter ditto with HP iv 30. The other Infuriated me. It was poison point impish roselia with shit IVs. When I saw that, my thought was basically 'what's the point?'.
Basically, we have different views on shinies, and we clearly see each other's views as 'stupid'. That's probably not something that's going to change, but at the same time, for every person who agrees with you, there's going to be a person who agrees with me, and all that matters is our own OPINIONS.
