Okay hypothetically, say me and my friend are in a race to complete the Pokédex and both needed an Articuno from the GTS. For some reason, folk can now see natures, IV's and EV's on GTS. I decide to put up my hexaperfect, bred, Hardy nature, level 100 Aegislash. He puts up his pentaperfect, instachecked, perfect natured, level 60 Aegislash. Who would win the race? Him, because he took a shorcut with Instacheck. Taking a shortcut in a race is cheating. Instachecking didn't even bother me, it's the fact you're all blatantly denying it's cheating is what bothers me.

I still had to take the time to get Instacheck to work (because as well all know it had several issues). And I had to take the time to find a hatcher for the one I wanted. And then if I had the time I gave back to the community by giving away the leftovers. And then I finally have to take the time to hatch the unclaimed ones. So I still hatched just as many eggs, but in a different order.
But I digress, no reason to keep arguing really. the program is gone, and even though people are trying to decrypt the Trades again I doubt it'll happen, besides I got the 1 shiny I wanted. So I won't be doing that silly Spinda Method.

Any associated value is given by the players, but having a shiny is not an advantage in any way. Players assign worth to shinies, the game itself does not.
However, with battle analyzer? You can see moves, objects, stat distrubution, etc. Knowing those does have a direct effect on online play, because you are given an advantage over your opponent -- this is especially important with regards to ranked battles. Shinies do nothing to gameplay, but being able to potentially be considered a top player world wide because you can see, with perfect accuracy, what your opponent is running?
If you really can't see the difference I'm afraid you'll have to look into the definition of a cosmetic change versus ones with real effects.

the only reason people care is because there's a needless shiny economy that's threatened by shinies with good IVs.
i stand by what i said earlier. I wanted my shinies for self expression. some referential nicknames and team themes work best with certain pokemon's alternate color palettes. I have loads of froakies with 30 in speed and special attack for HP fire, they all have a flaw such as the wrong attack IV, or the wrong ability, but they'll make breeding incredibly easy if anyone wants one?

Is this how the new egg check method would work?: 1) Save game 2) Put 2 Spindas in daycare 3) wait for an egg, regect it. 4) Save game 5) get new egg, hatch it and find out the SV due to markings on Spinda. Then write that down. 6) reset game, put the pokes you want to breed into daycare, get egg 7) the egg should have the same SV. Am I wrong?

I had two eggs hatched on leddit before the collapse of Instacheck and I got both back. Now, after the collapse of Instacheck, leddit's been a great hatching tool. I think in the past few days, I've had 9-10 eggs hatched on leddit, and I've gotten every one of them back.
