How do I get stop caring about competitive battling? The metagame is always shit and I've been obsessed with it since Gen 4. If I'm not battling I think about it all the time. I want to move on with my life, but I can't help wanting to be the very best.

If you have a life outside the game it isn't that big a deal. XY cane out a few months ago and everyone I know who has the games have been playing almost religiously since it's release. If it doesn't dictate your life then it's no big deal, you'll probably be over it in a few months.
